Setting up email in Evolution (POP)

Many of our office computers are now moving over to Ubuntu Linux. Here is a tutorial with screenshots to setup your POP email in Evolution. Evolution is also the closest free alternative to Microsoft Outlook with its own version of Tasks & Calendars.

 

Open Evolution by clicking on its icon or from  Applications> Internet > Evolution Mail

If the New Account setup wizard runs, skip the next two steps. Else…

 

Click on Edit > Preferences

Click Add

Click Forward

 

Enter your name as you would like those who receive your emails to see it, your email address etc...

Fill in the details as shown above -replacing the email address shown with your own.

Give this account a unique name as an identifier in case you choose to setup more than one account in Evolution. Click Apply on the next screen to complete setup.
